H: outside diameter of band; B: minimum length of perfect thread; L2: effective length of external thread; L: minimum length of male thread; G2: minimum wall thickness; J: center-to-male end of street elbow; G1: minimum wall thickness; A: center-to-female end of street elbow.
The ASME B16.11 street elbow is a 90° elbow with one end externally threaded (male NPT) and the other end internally threaded (female NPT). The male NPT end is to connect with a female-NPT screwed pipe while the female NPT end is to connect with a male-NPT screwed pipe. It changes the flow direction by an angle of 90 degrees. The screwed ends promote a rapid and convenient installation with mating pipes. They are available from sizes 1/8″ (NPS) through 2″ (NPS) in two pressure ratings: Class 3000 and Class 6000.
